In the midst of inner turmoil and outer chaos, I needed to get creative.
I made some lanterns from champagne coupes, I found in my mother's cupboard. I have no idea why my parents ever needed some of these but here they were and I love lanterns with tea light candles. So I painted them and although they don't look like much in daylight they are actually quite nice in darkness.
The paper roses are for the funeral tomorrow. I could not bring myself to buy actual roses for the grave. I buy regional, local and seasonal and all flowers have to be imported from South America or some African country in this season. And I didn't want that. So I made some paper roses from crêpe paper, silk paper and wire. My mum was a kindergardener and she was always crafting something. So it should be ok for her as well. I asked the gardener/florist who will provide the wreath to use seasonal appropriate plants. We'll see how this will work out.
