lotus

inspired by pictures from Bryan's lotus a few years back, I got some lotus rhizomes of my own. I found some relatively local growers to ensure they are made for my climate and thanks to the many hours of sunshine we had this year already, one of them decided to bloom. For weeks now I watched the bud betting taller and taller and finally thicker and thicker and today it began to open.

and there is fantastic smell as well

unfortunately I lost the name tag so I don't know its name. But there is a sister bud growing and I hope it'll reach maturity before the sun goes away.

some mending

while it will take some more time to mend the Bobic shaped hole in my heart, I could begin with some trousers.

My (naturally) favourite jeans was honorably worn out  and needed some mending. A lot of mending. Really a lot of mending. It felt good to get my old jeans back to work again.

There is still some more work to do, but I'm on it.

The main reason for all this radio silence is my ongoing indigo online workshop. Since soming back from Japan with so many ideas, I expanded the programme which takes some more time than usual. We're now at katazome dyeing ;o)
