Our new house mate saw the first sampler and fell in love with it on the spot. Now he has a new table runner and I had to change plans. Instead of weaving another smaller sampler and sew it to the first one as pillowcase, I warped the RH loom with a wider (full width 40 cm) warp and wove another one.
Sewing the side selvedges together, adding some bindings, two buttons and voilá a new pillow for my favourite chair.
Same warp as the sampler, this incredibly thin wool yarn taken double. The fabric is from some duvet covers and some of hubby's old shirts that were too yuk for my taste to upcycle them into something different.
The pillow inside is from my mother's collection of spare pillows and duvets to serve as a 3rd or 4th spare for the spare one.
Our new house mate is almost settled in now and the chaos waves are only knee high only rarely reaching the thighs now. Being able to make something nice, simple and useful like this helps me wade with the chaos (you can't fight it, no use in that, just go with the flow until it ebbs down a bit). Mum had a bad week which makes her very cranky and me her outlet. Go with the flow, go with the flow.
