In September I taught a workshop at the Online Guild of Weavers, Spinners and Dyers about Sustainability in Textile Crafts. And for that workshop I compiled and wrote a rather large fact sheet on the fibres we use. It took a lot of work to get the information all together so I thought I didn't want to let it all go to waste and just publish it here as well.
It is a PDF, about 180 kB large and you can just download it here.
And then there was another text I wrote down, I called it Idea Sheet and it was meant as some kind of starting point.
These texts are beginner's steps and were part of a workshop I taught. They are both liscensed under the creative commons. Feel free to pass it on, as long as you don't change it, don't remove my name and don't charge for it.
As an addendum: Recently I came across Mink Yarn. Something I don't have a lot of information on it yet, I'm still researching. There are many claims to it like animal friendly and such that I can't believe. And it seems, it will be the next go to luxury fibre in knitting. As soon as I have more infos, I will add them to the fact sheet.
